Be it an open fire, wood or multi fuel burning stove, gas fire or an oil fired cooker. All flues need sweeping to clear them of any build up of soot and potential fire risk.
We use traditional rod and brushes and the latest rotary power sweeping methods depending on the type of appliance.
Birds, particularly Jackdaws like to nest in chimneys. If there is a nest then the chimney will not be able to function, rendering the fire unusable and unsafe. We can remove a nest in a safe and controlled manor and clean the chimney after. This will allow the fire to be used once again.
Sometimes live animals like birds and squirrels can become trapped in the flue. These can be removed and released without a problem.
To prevent animal and water ingress (from rain) and to cure problems with down draught (air coming down the flue) we offer a range of caps and cowls that can be fitted to remedy these issues.
A service to check that the stove parts are operating correctly and can be replaced as required.
If you have moved into a new property or are opening up and old fireplace then it is advisable to test the integrity of the flue to make sure that it is sound and free from any leaks.
